Louisiana supports a rich diversity of wildlife and habitats that provide ecological, recreational, cultural, and economic benefits across the state. Through Extension programming and applied research, the LSU AgCenter Wildlife Program provides science-based information to help landowners, natural resource professionals, and outdoor enthusiasts make informed wildlife and habitat management decisions. Our work emphasizes practical management for game species such as white-tailed deer, waterfowl, wild turkey, and other managed wildlife populations, while also recognizing the importance of non-game species in maintaining biodiversity, ecological function, and resilient habitats. Through resources focused on food plot establishment, native habitat improvement, moist-soil management, nuisance wildlife management, and field-based demonstrations, the LSU AgCenter Wildlife Program provides practical, science-based guidance to support effective wildlife stewardship across Louisiana’s diverse landscapes.
