(05/15/26) BATON ROUGE, La. — Are weeds taking over your lawn? Do you have brown splotches suddenly appearing? Do you have places in your lawn where you can’t get grass to grow? The East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners are here to help.

Set your calendar for Thursday, June 11, at the Main Library on 7711 Goodwood Boulevard. The LSU AgCenter’s East Baton Rouge Parish assistant extension agent Bert Hammett will present a program on lawn care so that your lawn will become its most beautiful.

In addition, AgCenter assistant extension agent Ashley Pereira will help you build a magnificent garden of flowers. Her program on bed preparation for flowering plants will answer many of the questions you may have such as: How do you choose your location? What additives should you add to the soil? Which flowers will do best? And many more. Come learn how you can get your beds in the best possible condition.

The program begins at 6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
